Frequently asked

Still have a question? Contact guest services and we'll help.

Who can ride the chairlift?

All lift riders must be at least 40" tall. Children under 12 should ride with an adult, and animals aren't permitted on the lift. Everyone must follow our lift rules and guidelines.

Are dogs allowed?

Dogs are welcome during summer, early fall and late spring, but not on the chairlift. Dog owners can walk the 4-mile trail to Top of the Notch with dogs on a leash at all times. Hiking isn't permitted during alpine conditions.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

The loading and unloading area is wheelchair accessible. Because riders normally load without the lift stopping, we need to make special arrangements to stop the lift and load a wheelchair.

Passengers must be able to sit in the carrier on their own and reasonably help with loading, unloading and transferring to their wheelchair. Please contact us before your visit.

Can I rent gear when I get there?

Our rental inventory is small and usually sells out. The only way to secure a rental is to buy a Lift Ticket + Rental ahead of time. We rent snowboards (board, boots, helmet) and skis (skis, poles, boots, helmet), but not clothing or goggles. The rental building is at the top of Chair 1.

Do I need chains?

In winter, we always recommend carrying chains. Check Caltrans road conditions before you head up.

How should I dress?

The chair takes you into alpine conditions where cold can be dangerous, especially for young and older guests. Warm layers, hats and boots are essential.

Do I need to book online?

You save money by booking online, and all you need is your cell phone number. See your reservations or read the cancellation policy.
